This shirt is cut from a 10oz Japanese dobby-woven cloth with an indigo rope-dyed warp and a black sulphur-dyed weft. Dobby weaving utilizes a special loom attachment to manipulate the yarns during the weave, producing a fabric with a dense, three-dimensional geometric texture you can feel. The highly textured fabric means this shirt will develop high-contrast electric blue fading over time, highlighting the intricacy of the cloth.
At 10 ounces, this is a substantial fabric without being burdensome, and the indigo-over-black combination gives it a deep, rich tone that reads darker than your average indigo shirt. At first glance, it appears as a fairly ordinary fabric, but take a longer look and the uniqueness of this shirt really shines.
