Iron Heart’s painter’s pants are cut from the same 12oz Japanese whipcord the brand uses for its N1 deck jacket. Whipcord is a dense cotton twill woven and it has a long history in military clothing. The yarns are reactive-dyed in both warp and weft for color that resists fading. The fit is relaxed, and the pocketing follows the traditional painter’s pattern: hand-warmer pockets with a coin pouch, two side pockets, a hammer loop and half-lined rear pockets. Side seams are triple-chainstitched, internal seams are felled, and stress points are reinforced with bar tacks and brass rivets. Each pair is washed after construction to remove nearly all shrinkage.
