These painter's pants are cut from a 10.5oz Japanese herringbone twill woven with rope-dyed indigo warp yarns and a white weft. Herringbone's distinctive zig-zag weave pattern has deep roots in traditional workwear, its alternating direction of the twill creates a fabric with great durability and tear resistance. This version is woven with uneven yarns, which gives the cloth a textured, slightly irregular hand, providing a rustic, lived-in feel. Like Iron Heart's hickory stripe and Wabash fabrics, expect these to fade with a subtle vintage character as they're worn in.
At 10.5 ounces, this is a comfortable weight for a work pant, sturdy but easy-wearing during warmer weather. The fabric starts with a rich, saturated tone that will soften and develop contrast over time, particularly on the high-wear points where the white weft begins to poke through.
